Lew's BB-1N is one of the finest, most comfortable, and most sought after casting reels ever made. The "N" series reels have the added ball bearing on the handle crankshaft. While I never have had any trouble with the synthetic bushing used on the BB-1 or the BB-1L, the added ball bearing is extra insurance of smoothness and durability. For those of you who may buy this to actually fish with, it has the 4.3-1 gear ratio which is perfect for cranking. We all have a tendency to crank too fast and the slower ratio helps slow things down. The reel retrieves about 18 or 19 inches of line per crank. Most of the current production casting reels retrieve 25 or 26 inches per crank. This particular reel is from a friend who asked me toclean and sell it for him. It is a true "collector quality" piece. This reel has no rash. There are a few tiny "Flea specs" and one very minor scratch that is hard to see. Please inspect photos. I went through it completely and it is freshly greased, oiled, tested, and ready to fish or collect. This reel rates 98-99 of100 cosmetically, and mechanically it is wonderful!! Give this handle a spin and it just keeps spinning. No parts are missing or damaged. All screw heads and threads are in perfect condition. The level wind and drag are smooth and quiet. This one has the Zirconia pawl. In short, all internal parts are like new and this reel is ready. This reel is ready to fish, collect, or give as a gift with confidence. Check my feedback.
