Lew's BB-1NG is one of the finest, most comfortable, and most sought after casting reels ever made. The "N" series reels have the added ball bearing on the handle crankshaft. While I never have had any trouble with the synthetic bushing used on the BB-1 or the BB-1L, the added ball bearing is extra insurance of smoothness and durability. For those of you who may buy this to actually fish with, it has the 4.3-1 gear ratio which is perfect for cranking. We all have a tendency to crank too fast and the slower ratio helps slow things down. The reel retrieves about 18 or 19 inches of line per crank. Most of the current production casting reels retrieve 25 or 26 inches per crank. This particular reel is from a friend who asked me to clean and sell it for him. It is a true "collector quality" piece. I went through it completely and it is freshly greased, oiled, tested, and ready to fish or collect. This reel rates 98-99.5 of 100 cosmetically, and mechanically it is one of the best I have ever tested. The only flaw on this beauty is a few TINY Tiny flea specs on the right side cover at the top about 1 1/4" above the spool release button. No parts are missing or damaged. All screw heads and threads are in perfect condition. The level wind and drag are smooth and quiet. This one has the Zirconia level wind pawl. The handle and star drag are not missing any paint nor are there any paint rubs on them. The gold trim is bright and shiny. The front line guide bar even has all of the paint remaining on it. There is no crankshaft end play in the handle area. This reel is ready to fish, collect, or give as a gift with confidence. You are bidding on the reel in the photos. Check my feedback. It is 100 %.
