FAQ: Q: I use 8" holes and bigger Isn't this going to fall in?
A: The Solution is rather simle - stagger the disks when you stick them together to apply for "craters"- (I, myself rarely use hole igger than 7" D for tip-ups and 4-5" for jigging.)
Q: How Do I use This for jigging? Does It Not Get in the way when I am pulling the fish Up?
A: It acts as a cover to close the access of the sunlight - when you cut the center hole (use an arrow punch or simple pair of scissors/engineer knife) then you want to make it removable by slicing a narrow slit (1/4" is usually enough) for the axis of the tip-up roller or the line of the jig pole. The idea is to have a hole only big enough to drop your bait, not spook the fish and then when it is on and you have set the hook - simply reach and slidel the disk away leaving the hole exposed for the fish to come through.
