How Much is an Items Reserve?
As an eBay seller HIBS occasionally lists items in an Auction style-format using the Reserve Price option. When done, we do not generally disclose our established Reserve Price. At HIBS, we value our repeat customers (and new ones too!) and feel that disclosing the reserve to those that ask puts our valued repeat customers at a disadvantage. What would otherwise be a fair auction now makes it an unfair auction simply because someone was bold enough to ask “What’s the reserve?” We find that not disclosing the reserve (to those that ask) keeps our valued customers coming back again because they know we are a shop with integrity that values their on-line business. So, if it’s established as an auction …we prefer to let it run its course as a “fair” auction.
What is your Feedback?
Bid / Buy with confidence. HIBS has an exceptional feedback score (nearly 100%) and we take pride in our feedback. We request that customers who wish to leave negative feedback contact us first to discuss why he or she may not be happy. Keep in mind our family has been self-employed for over 16 years and although we realize we cannot please everybody, we sincerely try our best to make ALL of our customers happy.
How Quickly Will you Ship My Item(s)?
HIBS is pleased to state that approximately 70% of our sales ship within 24 hours of payment. Of the remaining 30%, 28% ship within 48 hours of payment. Rarely does it take us longer and generally if it does, it is because the item sold is a fully assembled bicycle which needs to be disassembled and carefully packaged for shipment. At no time has it taken us more than 72 hours to ship a package.
How Will You Ship My Item(s)?
Keep in mind that HIBS frequently ships via US Postal because the shipping costs are generally less expensive. Note however that when shipping US Postal, it requires that the vehicle be started and driven to the Post Office, where I have to stand in line and wait for service. My true shipping costs as a result, are more than the amount of postage placed upon the package shipped. My true shipping costs are postage, packaging materials, vehicle gas, mileage and my time to go to the Post Office. Despite these costs, US Postal still tends to be less expensive, so I frequently ship via US Postal. If US Postal is not chosen as the shipping carrier, item will ship either UPS or FedEx. Seller reserves the right to choose the carrier (though seller will honor the shipping dollar quote provided) depending upon the winning / Buy It Now destination location. If concerned about the shipper that will be chosen, forward you concern prior to purchase.
What about shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and USA Territories?
Unfortunately shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and US Territories are often times more costly than to ship to the lower 48 States. Depends upon the size of the parcel. If the item is small enough to fit in a Flat Rate Priority envelope (like a cycling jersey or a pair of grips) than there will not be a shipping increase. However, if the item is a bicycle fork, a bicycle frame, a set of cranks, a saddle, MTB tires or anything of similar size, it will likely cost more to ship to this location. Any questions, ask prior to bidding or buying.
What about International Shipments?
Yes, HIBS does ship most of their items internationally. If shipping is not disclosed, buyer should request a shipping quote prior to purchase.
Phone number Buyer must provide his/her telephone number for completion of the Customs Department paperwork.
Declared Value / Gift HIBS is a respectable and honest eBay Store. We do not fraudulently declare a value on merchandise for anything other than the sales price. Nor do we mark shipments as “gifts”. Participating in this activity is Customs Fraud and therefore illegal.
What about Shipping Insurance?
Some of our listings state insurance is required (generally on pricier items). Others say it is not offered, and some say it is optional.
If Required: It is for the purpose of protecting you, the buyer and us, the seller, from loss if the package is damaged, stolen or lost in transit.
If Not Offered: It is generally because it is not available with the disclosed shipping method. However, buyer may request an alternative method of shipping where insurance is an option, but it is up to the buyer to make such request for shipping quote.
If Optional: It is optional at buyer’s choice. Note however, if buyer chooses not to purchase insurance, seller will not be responsible if the package is lost, stolen or damaged in transit.
Is the item in your Stock or Do you have to Order it? Will I experience a delay in shipping?
HIBS only lists items we actually have in stock. Sticking with this policy, enables us to ensure that our customer’s product is shipped promptly thereby ensuring customer satisfaction. However, because HIBS also operates a physical bike shop (High Intensity Bike Shop) we occasionally, though rarely, sell the item in our bike shop just prior to selling it online. This rarely, rarely happens but in the interest of full-disclosure, online buyers need to be aware that as a retail bike shop as well, this can happen. So, HIBS reserves the right to terminate listings early.
If I purchase a bicycle frame – can I drop you an email about parts you may have available to build it?
Yes, HIBS does custom bike builds so we frequently have new or OEM parts available to build the frames. Drop us an email letting us know how you wish to build it. We may be able to help and yes, we do combine shipping.
What if I am seeking a particular item/frame that you do not have listed on eBay? Or an item/frame you do have listed, but I need it in a different size?
Well, HIBS is the #1 Kona Dealer in New England, so if you are seeking a Kona, we may have it in stock. Drop us an email at Sales@HighIntensityBikeShop.com and we will check our stock. If we don’t have it in stock, we are willing to place a special order with our manufacturer (our product lines are Kona, Rocky Mtn, Jamis, Time, Pinarello, Sinister & Redline).
