Chinese Hand Crank Generator -Type 65 Original military surplus generator produces DC electricity from hand cranking. Considered the most dependable generator ever made, originally designed to power field radios, breaks down to a compact unit with canvas storage bags for generator and spare parts, complete with toggle switches, wires, and resistors. 1960's Chinese military surplus. Chinese Military Radio Hand Crank Generator Type 65 For sale is a NOS Chinese Army type 65 generator designed for use with the 102E and other small radio sets. The generator is actually a three phase alternator employing a spinning permanent magnet rotor for field generation. There are no brushes since the field is generated by a permanent magnet. The rotor is gear driven from the cranks by a set of gears to step up the rpm. There are seven ball bearings on three shafts. DC voltages are obtained by diode rectifiers to obtain high voltage (430V, 130 mA) and low voltage (6.3V, 2 A).
