Seasoned Sassafras Walking Hiking Stick Our products are hand crafted directly from the trees we harvest from private forests in the Appalachian regions of Ohio and Kentucky. This young sassafras tree was found in the woods of southern Ohio wrapped with a honeysuckle vine . As the tree and the vine both grew, the curls and twists were created in the wood. It was cut and allowed to age for a year making it a lightweight walking or hiking stick. Beautiful sassafras orangey carmel color. 7 wide twists ! The vine and bark have been removed accenting the deep vine twists. This stick has been sanded smooth bringing out the rich dark colors. No stain has been used. Two coats of protective coating have been applied to ensure this work of art maintains it's beauty for generations to come. It will also be protected from water when crossing creeks on stepping stones.These sticks can keep you from falling in a creek or direct a snake out of your path on the trail.
