This is a terrific squash racquet for someone who would like a nice racquet for a reasonable price. This racquet frame has titanium woven into the fibers. What's the big deal about titanium? Simply put, titanium is among the world's strongest metals pound for pound. With it, you can have incredibly strong frames without it being excessively heavy. Stronger frames resist breaking which is always important and allows for greater rigidity helping you have more accuracy and transfering more power to the ball. If titanium is so great how come everything isn't made of titanium? The answer--cost. It is super-expensive. So, to get a titanium based racquet for an affordable price is a rarity. This racquet features a teardrop-shaped face. This has been proven to give a larger sweet spot. Even if your shot is not exactly centered, you have a better chance of getting off a decent shot with a greater margin of error. That is crucially important for all level players. Frequently you have adequate time to set up for and make a nice return but the true test of an excellent player is how you perform under pressure, off-balance, in an awkward stance, pressed for time--a better racquet gives you an edge under conditions like this. Against a skilled player, they are trying their best to put you in such a position all the time. The head is slightly oversized--525 sq cm--more room for error... This racquet features a bi-stem neck with a built-in dampening Vibrotech elastomer. This cuts down vibration. Vibration literally robs you of power and the less there is, the better. The racquet comes pre-strung with Dunlop's own quality nylon stringing. One great upgrade from most basic racquets is that the stringing is in the more advanced fan style--if you look closely you will see that the strings are not perpendicular--they are angled. This concentrates more string in the center of the racquet where nearly all shots are struck--this allows you to transfer power more efficiently and impart better control and spin to the ball. Finally, the racquet is equipped with a protective lightweight plastic covering on the exterior around the topmost part of the racquet. After you've broken your first few racquets scraping returns from tight rail shots or digging a well-placed ball out of the corner, you'll appreciate this little feature. Also included is a racquet cover--reasonably important to protect your racquet from damage or premature aging. Next you also get some high quality Prince brand protective eyewear/ goggles. This is the Rage model and comes with a polycarbonate panoramic lens design for optimum straight ahead AND peripherheral vision. It features an optional foam/neoprene leash/strap for added security. The nosepiece is a flexible silicon material to make a more comfortable, flexible fit. The temple arms are completely adjustable and fit any size face. Finally, the lens has ventilation holes to allow better airflow and minimize the chance of condensation forming. These glasses meet ASTM and CE ball impact testing requirements and are approved for use in all leagues and tournaments. These are non-dorky looking-- they look like rimless glasses with black coloration on the frame area and temple arms. These are designed for court use for squash. I think the most dangerous class of player on a squash court is the new, just learning to play person-- It is the absolute coolest sport in the world, but you have to play safe and smart.
